Memorial Weekend

 
Wow today Peyton is 16 months and this past Wednesday Rory turned 3 weeks.  It is amazing how quickly time goes by and you can obviously see why this post about Memorial weekend is a bit late.
 
Memorial Weekend we spent the time with Trevor's family.  Since it has  been awhile for all of these brothers to have some fun, it was fitting to just go to Baltimore and hang out at the Pankau house.  We don't know when the next time this will happen since Trevor travels so much for his job.  

So Saturday we met everyone in Baltimore to enjoy the Harbor and to take in a ball game.  Rory is only 10 days old on this day and she went to her very first baseball game.  She did excellent.  I know you all are thinking I am crazy for going to game with a 15 month old and a newborn and of course my  boys.  Don't worry we had plenty of extra hands to help out just in case someone didn't want to sit still.  It worked great because Peyton watched the game like a pro.  I guess going to all of her brother's games set her up for this one.  Of course this is not her first time going to game as she went last summer to two.  As you can see, my boys didn't know who to root for.  Do they go for the home team O's or watch the Royals win?  Well that is what happened.  It was a great game as the Royals beat the O's 4-3.  Nothing like a great day ( and very hot) at the harbor and game.  Can't wait to do it again.

Sunday we just hung out at the parents house and went to a winery and on a little nature hike in Leesburg.  It was nice to just go out and do things and this was just the kids and was very nice.  Normally Trevor's parents are around too which doesn't mean a bad thing, but we have never really spent a whole day of just the kids hanging out and it had a completely different atmosphere.  Turned out great.  We grilled out for dinner and waited for Trevor's cousin to come in from a vacation to Iceland. 

Monday we canceled a photo shoot for Rory so we could hang out more.  Guess we didn't need to do that, as the rest of the kids planned to either lay out at the pool (which I wasn't quite ready for) and the boys went skeet shooting.  But that is ok cause on Memorial day, we went back home and enjoyed just  being our own little family and doing things around the house.  The kids played and it just made us realize even more how lucky we are to be able to have the freedoms that we have after so many gave their lives to protect that right.  Hope everyone else enjoyed their memorial weekend as we did.
