Wow, where to begin. I am so behind on the blogging but so much has happened in a month and a few days.
Since Easter, we have camped out/packed up the house, moved, started swim lessons, did a mini vaca and did some upgrades to our old/new home. That is a lot in a short time.
So beginning of May the moving company came and started packing up our stuff. Austin loved it and thought it was the greatest thing. Especially once the actual truck came. Even the little girl next door came by to play on the truck. Derek was able to see the truck after school, but for the most part he missed most of it. Since everything was packed up so early we got to "camp out" inside the house for 2 1/2 weeks. Of course the kids thought this was cool, but rest assured sleeping on the floor for that long does a killer on your back. Guess I am not as young as I used to be. LOL.
Derek's last day of school was in the middle of May and that day we hit the road. We made a brief stop visiting my mom and brother and to pick up our beloved dog Princess. It was nice to have a home cooked meal after eating out for so long. After our visit we headed back North to our old home in Northern VA/DC area. It was like a brand new home to us though. While we were camping out, Trevor was busy adding another room to the basement, installing ceiling fans, and having rooms painted. It was like coming into a brand new home. Freshly painted walls looked awesome and of course everytime you move you try something new. The basement room is not quite done. It just needs some doors and carpet now. I hope to have that done soon, but we have realized that we may need a bigger home. We were spoiled in Florida so maybe we will try and get something closer and bigger to DC. We will see though. All you real estate friends, we may be coming to you in the future.
Uncle Chris and the boys @ Uncle Chris' fire station Miss Peyton 3 months old
Now that we are back and only have been for 2 weeks now, we went to our timeshare for memorial weekend and had a blast. Peyton went swimming for the first time and absolutely loved it. I hope she stays this way. She can't start swim lessons until she is 6 months old around here, but believe me, when she can we will be doing it. The boys started their swim lessons as soon as we got back. You may be thinking why do they need that when you lived at the beach, well it is two different things from swimming in a pool to swimming in the ocean. Plus Austin hates water in his face so hopefully this will get him used to it.
Making a headstone for Max
Some of you may be wondering about Princess, since she lost her brother. Well she is definitely lonely. She follows me everywhere and isn't eating much. But she always does that when we move especially when it is hot out. She takes her treats and will eat a little so we know she is fine. We may get her a playmate soon to help her feel better.
Our biggest news is that our littlest angel is now rolling over! Peyton started this week and she couldn't be prouder of herself. Not even 4 months old yet and she really wants to sit up, so we are thinking that is next! Our life of excitment.
Home Sweet Home On our long moving trip North
Now that we are finally settling in, it is time for the many boxes to be unpacked. My plan is to have it done soon so we can have a welcome back party. We will let you all know soon when that will be so that you may come and enjoy the festivities with us. No obligation though. We know some of you may not want to drive so far out.
