Craniosynostosis

So I have slacked on the keeping updates.  It has been extremely crazy around here and I have not kept up on the blog like I normally could.  Probably taking care of my 4 kids plus and extra 2 on some days has something to do with it.   I am not complaining just saying we are very busy.  If you have my facebook then you are updated almost daily as I am going from here to there and everywhere.   So here is a bit more on us and especially Miss Rory.

So it is confirmed that Rory has Sagittal Cranio.   September is Cranio Awareness month along with childhood cancer, EB, etc.   All the kid related diseases that we wish our kids did not have to endure.  My heart breaks for all of them as they are all too young to have to go through anything that requires any long stays with doctors and potential surgeries.

Rory had her CT scan on 1 October.  It amazes me how much technology has progressed over the years.  Hers was a 3D scan and it really shows that she has no soft spot at all and the Sagittal Suture is fused.  There is speculation that she was actually born this way and that maybe the small soft spot we felt in the beginning was just the Metopic Suture opened more than it is now.  She will have surgery to correct this.  It is major surgery and will be in the hospital for 5 days, but it is done all the time and for the doctors themselves pretty routine.  I hate to say that since they are going to open up my baby's head, but it is was is needed for her to hopefully not develop any delays or other potential issues.

As for the rest of the kids, they are all well.  Soccer is coming to a close and it will be nice to not have to make sure they all get to practice and games which takes up every night of our weeks.  Sundays are our rest days which is how it is meant to be.  God created 7 days for this reason.  Sunday is the rest day.   Peyton is something else.  She is definitely one to take after her mama.  Very independent and on the go.  Does not want to miss a thing and is way too smart for her own good.  Derek and Austin are doing great in school and Austin loves going to his own school for kindergarten.   He is so cute when he quotes his bible versus.

They grow up quick.  Cherish each moment as we do not know what the next day will bring.

Great update! Your pictures are beautiful and I'll be praying for your sweet baby when she has surgery.
